RC Bumper Conversion / Tricky Bolts
continued. . .

tricky bolt

Like mentioned before these bolts can be tricky to remove. You'll have to find creative ways that work for you. I bent the piece you see in the image up and over to get something for the nut at the bottom to turn against.

Once this nut is removed from its bolt you can unscrew the bolt.

At this point repeat the steps you took to remove the nut and bolt to the remaining one on the other side. Now simply pull out the crashbar and you'll have and put in your new crashbar.

no crashbar

You will notice that the RC crashbar does seem a bit weaker than the heavy stock crashbar. It probably is and will most likely not offer the same protection the stock crashbar would in a front end accident. Keep this in mind while speeding and bumper to bumper traffic. A simple 30 mph fender bender could cost you the entire car.

RC crashbar

This crashbar does weight significantly less than the stock crashbar. The bumper weights less as well making this not only for a good aesthetic modification but for a good weight reduction modification as well.
